Dent CT-R24-A4U SpecificationsOne of the most frequently asked questions in our tech support department is this: "Can I get CTs with longer leads or extend the leads myself? What's the maximum length for CT leads?".
Standard lead length for a DENT current transformer is 3 meters (with a 7 meter option available for some models). Occasionally, because of electrical room layout or other factors, there is a requirement for longer leads on a current transformer. Therefore, extending the CT leads is necessary. The following is a brief overview of options for extending CT leads based on CT type. Note that the length recommendations listed below apply to PowerScout Series and ELITEpro XC instruments ONLY. To extend RoCoil leads for use with the TCA-5, please contact our experts to get advice specific to your application.
Split-Core Current Transformers leads can be extended up to 500 feet using extensions of the same wire type/AWG.

Rogowski coil, named after Walter Rogowski, is an electrical device for measuring alternating current (AC) or high-speed current pulses. It consists of a helical coil of wire with the lead from one end returning through the center of the coil to the other end so that both terminals are at the same end of the coil. The whole assembly is then wrapped around the straight conductor whose current is to be measured.
Since the voltage that is induced in the coil is proportional to the rate of change of current in the straight conductor the output of the Rogowski coil is usually connected to an electrical (or electronic) integrator circuit in order to provide an output signal that is proportional to the current.
The relationship between voltage and rate of change of current is explained in the following equation where "V" is voltage and "M" is a constant:
Rogowski coil accuracy is usually calibrated with the conductor centered in the CT window. In practice, however, the CT typically hangs on the conductor which can introduce measurement errors. Note that the error is greatest when the CT connector hangs on the conductor. The following diagram outlines the error introduced simply by moving the conductor to different positions within the opening of the Rogowski coil.
Best practice for Rogowski coil installation is to center the conductor as best as conditions allow. In addition, it's a good idea to keep any other conductors (those you do not wish to measure) at a minimum distance of 2x the diameter of the Rogowski coil CT.
Also, keep in mind that although a Rogowski coil is ideal for large amperage loads, accuracy of the coil may be reduced on smaller loads (<20 A).

Orders are processed on business days (Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays). Orders placed after business hours or on weekends will begin processing the following business day.

A processing fee of 10% of the total order value will be withheld from your refund to cover payment processing, handling, and administrative costs.
If we cancel your order due to item unavailability, no processing fee will be withheld. You receive a full refund of the amount paid.
Refunds will be issued using the same payment method as the original purchase. No additional fees beyond those described above will be applied.

You should expect to receive your refund within four (4) weeks of delivering your return package to the shipper. In many cases, refunds are processed sooner. The timeline breaks down as follows:
We will process refunds no later than 14 days from the day we receive the returned Goods, using the same payment method as your original purchase.
If the Goods were marked as a gift at the time of purchase and shipped directly to you, a gift credit equal to the return value (less any applicable processing fee) will be issued. Once the returned product is received and inspected, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the Goods were not marked as a gift at purchase, or if the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves first, the refund will be issued to the original purchaser.

Defective new equipment may be returned for warrantyrepair/exchange to us within (5) days of the shipment receipt date. After five (5) days, returns will be handled by direct contact and in accordance with the warranty terms of the item's manufacturer. Items that have malfunctioned due to mishandling, electrical overload, etc., will be subject to repair charge.
Non defective new equipment will be authorized for return within five (5) days of the shipment receipt date if the equipment is still in new, re-sellable condition with the original manual(s), accessories, packing material and carton. We reserve the right to reject returnsin which there is no original packaging, missing accessories, damage or visible signs of usage of the item. A restocking fee of up to 25% of purchase price may apply. Special orders and dangerous goods are non-returnable.
(Do not write anytingon the manufacturer's original package or use as a shipping carton. Include all accessories, manuals and warranties.)
