Makita is meeting demand with an expanding collection of string trimmers, including the 18V X2 (36V) LXT® Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit (XRU18PT). With zero emissions, lower noise and considerably less maintenance than gas-powered string trimmers, the 18V X2 (36V) LXT® Cordless String Trimmer is a welcome solution for landscapers. The XRU18 has the power equivalent to a 30cc gas string trimmer. The efficient Makita® BL Brushless Motor delivers longer run time, more power and speed, and longer tool life. With a 17" cutting swath, the XRU18 provides increased productivity. The steel drive shaft provides less vibration and longer equipment life. The String Trimmer features Makita® Extreme Protection Technology (XPT). XPT is a protective seal inside the tool and is engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust from key internal components. Its part of Makitas expanding 18V LXT® System, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. Model XRU18PT is a kit and includes two fast-charging 18V LXT® 5.0Ah batteries and an efficient 18V Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger.

All returns must be authorized. Items returned prior to authorization will not be accepted. For international customers where applicable, customers must ship any returns to us freight and duty prepaid. Return freight charges for internationsl shippments will be the responsibility of the customer.
Defective new equipment may be returned for warrantyrepair/exchange to us within (5) days of the shipment receipt date. After five (5) days, returns will be handled by direct contact and in accordance with the warranty terms of the item's manufacturer. Items that have malfunctioned due to mishandling, electrical overload, etc., will be subject to repair charge.
Non defective new equipment will be authorized for return within five (5) days of the shipment receipt date if the equipment is still in new, re-sellable condition with the original manual(s), accessories, packing material and carton. We reserve the right to reject returnsin which there is no original packaging, missing accessories, damage or visible signs of usage of the item. A restocking fee of up to 25% of purchase price may apply. Special orders and dangerous goods are non-returnable.

We can ship to both US and Canada. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we will charge a flat rate shipping for your items.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
