The Armada Pro881 underground cable locator consists of a transmitter with a broadcasting antenna inside and a receiver that tracks irrigation wires, valves, and finds major faults in cables. The transmitter is the long gray box that also serves as the carrying case. The receiver is the black and yellow wand. The Pro881 transmitter features 3 different locating frequencies, 2 kHz and 33 kHz in direct connection mode, and a broadcast frequency of 175 kHz via the clamp or internal broadcast antenna. The 2 kHz and 33 kHz in direct connect mode – are used to facilitate more accurate tracing or to gain more distance. The total distance in direct connection mode reaches up to 5,000 feet, and the locating depth is up to 8 feet. The broadcast frequency of 175 kHz via the clamp or internal broadcast antenna is widely used to scan any area before digging, just to find out if it’s safe to start excavating in the area. Broadcast mode is connectionless and different from using the direct clip-on method of connection. It is not as precise or strong as direct connecting, but when access to cables is limited or just a quick scan is required, broadcast mode can be very useful. The Armada underground cable locator Pro881 finds cables in 3 different ways. First, via direct connection, while the transmitter is connected to a cable, it sends a signal of either 2kHz or 33kHz onto the cable, and the locator will react to that cable. Second, when the inductive clamp is connected to a cable or conduit in which the cable is placed, the signal will be induced into the cable. This mode is very useful when there is no direct access to the target cable. The third is the broadcast mode - the inductive antenna sends a signal to the ground where cables are located, and the locator will map out cables and pipes present within the surrounding area. This mode is very useful for most construction work when the user wants to determine the presence of any cables within a construction work zone. These wireless connection methods of the inductive clamp or inductive antenna give the Pro881 incredible flexibility when tracking wires and cables that you either can’t or don’t wish to disconnect, like live electrical or in-service CATV lines.
Features
There are two receiver wand modes for tracing a path: Null or Peak. The receiver defaults to Null when turned on. The user may select which mode is the best for their application. The receiver and transmitter must always be in the same mode to operate properly.
The knob on the receiver control panel regulates the volume level of the receiver for both headphones and external speaker. Additionally, the signal LED group on the receiver display will indicate the signal level visually. After connecting and turning on the transmitter and the receiver, point the receiver toward the ground in the direction of the cable and listen for the beeping signal. The feedback of whatever you are locating is given in two manners: audible external speaker and headset. These audible options indicate the signal strength that is being received by the Pro881™.
The Armada wire locator incorporates digital reception filtration to eliminate unwanted AC noise and interference for efficient, uncomplicated locates. This advanced cable locator provides a clear, clean, interference-free signal - no buzzing, no AC cracking, no drowning of your signal beneath the local electrical transformer or electrical cable. All the interference is filtered out. The user is able to clearly hear the beeping or continuous tone that is easy to follow and easy to track.
Locating in a noisy environment is easy, as the Armada cable locator comes with a stereo headset to listen to the tracing tone in addition to a standard speaker.
The Armada Technologies Pro881 can also be used to find breaks or severe wire damage. However, unlike when you are tracing a wire, the break or wire damage will cause the signal to stop at the point of the break. Either the speaker or the analog meter on the receiver will indicate this drop. Generally, the greater the damage to the wire, the greater the drop-off at the point of damage.
The Pro881 uses the triangulation method for depth determination.
Simply acquire the wire path in the null mode, place the receiver at a 45-degree angle to that path, move the receiver horizontally in the direction the receiver wand is leaning, and when you get the null again, the distance traveled is the depth of the wire.
The Armada Pro881 uses 8 “D” batteries installed in the transmitter battery compartment and a 9-volt alkaline or lithium battery in the receiver. Both the transmitter and receiver have an LED to indicate battery level.

Flat-rate shipping is calculated to reflect the cost of reliable, insured delivery. The rate shown at checkout is final — no hidden surcharges will be added after your order is placed.
For certain items, shipping costs are calculated based on the weight of the product. The weight of any weight-based item is listed on its product detail page.
For example, an item weighing 3.2 lbs will be rated at 4 lbs for shipping calculation purposes. This policy is standard practice across all major carriers we work with.

Orders are processed on business days (Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays). Orders placed after business hours or on weekends will begin processing the following business day.

A processing fee of 10% of the total order value will be withheld from your refund to cover payment processing, handling, and administrative costs.
If we cancel your order due to item unavailability, no processing fee will be withheld. You receive a full refund of the amount paid.
Refunds will be issued using the same payment method as the original purchase. No additional fees beyond those described above will be applied.

You should expect to receive your refund within four (4) weeks of delivering your return package to the shipper. In many cases, refunds are processed sooner. The timeline breaks down as follows:
We will process refunds no later than 14 days from the day we receive the returned Goods, using the same payment method as your original purchase.
If the Goods were marked as a gift at the time of purchase and shipped directly to you, a gift credit equal to the return value (less any applicable processing fee) will be issued. Once the returned product is received and inspected, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the Goods were not marked as a gift at purchase, or if the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves first, the refund will be issued to the original purchaser.

Defective new equipment may be returned for warrantyrepair/exchange to us within (5) days of the shipment receipt date. After five (5) days, returns will be handled by direct contact and in accordance with the warranty terms of the item's manufacturer. Items that have malfunctioned due to mishandling, electrical overload, etc., will be subject to repair charge.
Non defective new equipment will be authorized for return within five (5) days of the shipment receipt date if the equipment is still in new, re-sellable condition with the original manual(s), accessories, packing material and carton. We reserve the right to reject returnsin which there is no original packaging, missing accessories, damage or visible signs of usage of the item. A restocking fee of up to 25% of purchase price may apply. Special orders and dangerous goods are non-returnable.
